US HOUSE: Ethics complaint filed on NC Democrat Linda Coleman

Published

on

Monday, the North Carolina Wake County, Republican Party released a statement to Populist Wire about the fundraising integrity problems for Linda Coleman, former candidate for Lt. Governor (D- NC), a candidate for US House of Representatives in Wake County North Carolina.

The following is a press release from Charles Helliwig, Chairman of the Wake Co.GOP:

Linda Coleman: Where is your report?

One of the simple things each candidate has to do when running for the House of Representatives is file a Personal Financial Disclosure Report with the Office of the Clerk, which becomes a public record every voter may see. You’d expect a candidate who’s run for office seven times before, and who has said she supports ‘transparency,’ to do that. But Linda Coleman hasn’t. My question for Mrs. Coleman is: Why not?

On November 14, 2017, Mrs. Coleman signed a letter to the Clerk of the House of Representatives stating she “understood that when I do raise or spend in excess of $5000 for my campaign, I must file a Financial Disclosure Statement with the Clerk of the House of Representatives…” That was more than 6 months ago and even though Coleman has raised over $140,000 in contributions, she has not filed a Financial Disclosure Report.

According to the Clerk of the US House (see attached), failure to file a Personal Financial Disclosure Statement is a violation of federal law (5 U.S.C. app 104) and Mrs. Coleman could be fined.

“I call on Linda Coleman to explain to voters why she failed to file the report months ago, as other candidates have done,” said Charles Hellwig, Chairman of the Wake County Republican Party. “On one hand, Linda Coleman says she is for transparency, but on the other hand, she ignores a law that ensures transparency. That’s one more example of broken politics and is exactly what makes voters cynical,” said Hellwig.

US CODE:

USCODE-2010-title5-app-ethicsing-sec104

US CODE says, “(a)(1) The Attorney General may bring a civil action in any appropriate United States district
court against any individual who knowingly and willfully falsifies or who knowingly and willfully fails to file or report any information that such individual is required to report pursuant to section 102. The court in which such action is
brought may assess against such individual a civil penalty in any amount, not to exceed $50,000.

(2)(A) It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly and willfully— (i) falsify any information that such person
is required to report under section 102; and (ii) fail to file or report any information that such person is required to report undersection 102.

(B) Any person who—

(i) violates subparagraph (A)(i) shall be fined under title 18, United States Code, imprisoned for not more than 1 year, or both;

COMPLAINT FILED:

Hellwig wrote, ” The U.S. House Committee on Ethics “Guide for Financial Disclosure Statements and Periodic Transaction Reports” states (on page three) that “Individuals are required to file a Financial Disclosure Statement once they ‘qualify’ as a candidate by raising or spending more than $5,000 in a campaign for election to the House of
Representatives.”

Mrs. Linda Coleman is the Democratic candidate for Congress in North Carolina’s Second District, and her campaign has reported to the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) that it has raised over $141,000 But Mrs. Coleman has not filed a Personal Financial Disclosure Statement.

I am filing this ethics complaint because Linda Coleman has failed to file her Financial Disclosure Statements.”

[Liberty Series] Democrats want people to Boycott 4th of July

Published

on

ABC News in Raleigh, North Carolina is reporting that Social Justice Warriors hate Liberty and Freedom, and they want others to join them.

“Community activists and advocates in Raleigh and in Durham are urging their social-media followers to boycott the Fourth of July this year, telling people not to buy hot dogs, not to buy fireworks,” according to ABC News.

Full Report Here

The boycott is being led by someone who is viewed by others as a Black Separatist,  Durham minister and activist Paul Scott.

From his site HERE:

“Scott was ordained a Baptist minister in 1998 he later went on to coin the phrase Afrikan Liberation Theology, which is Black Liberation Theology for the 21st century.”

According to numerous sources, Black Liberation Theology is an offshoot of the South American liberation theology which is using Biblical Scripture to dominate systems and institutions. The agenda is to do this by any means necessary and to promote it’s leaders, to people who don’t like work,  thru pushing policies of Socialism and Communism.

Scott says that boycotting Hot Dogs and Family festivals is Boycotting Hatred:

Populist Wire reached out for comment and will update if we receive a response.

NC will vote on Constutitional Amendment on Voter ID

Published

on

Friday, a state that has tried to pass voter ID in the past, has gotten another chance to debate whether voters should be required to prove their ID before they vote.  Lt. Governor Dan Forest (R-North Carolina) released a statement that he had ratified the Voter ID Constitutional Amendment.  State Republicans have led the charge for ID.

“We are excited to give the voters of North Carolina a chance to have their voices heard on this matter,”  Michele Nix, the Vice Chairman of the North Carolina GOP, told Populist Wire.

The Charlotte Observer reported:

“Voters will be asked this fall if a photo identification requirement for in-person voting should be enshrined in the state constitution.

The state Senate gave final approval Friday to put the question to voters.

A change to the North Carolina Constitution would bring back photo ID requirements that were part of a wide-ranging elections law from 2013 that a panel of federal judges struck down in 2016. The judges ruled that the law had targeted African-American voters with “almost surgical precision.”

Photo ID will be one of six constitutional amendments going to voters this fall. The amendments don’t need approval from the governor.”

GRASSROOTS ACTIVISTS HAVE KEPT THE PRESSURE ON

Jay Delancy, a leading activist in the State of North Carolina and founder of Voter Integrity Project reported from the Raleigh Legislative building Thursday, that Senators had cited his group’s work in defense of  Voter ID:

Voter Integrity Project

VIP, founded by Delancy has been a leading force for Election reform, is planning an educational campaign to help teach voters about the need for Voter ID as a major part of overall election health.

From their Site:

“The Voter Integrity Project of NC was founded in 2011 by Jay DeLancy and John Pizzo. Their mission was to ensure free and fair elections to all lawfully registered voters. Mr. Pizzo has more than 30 years private industry experience in the discipline of of quality engineering and holds a Six Sigma Black Belt. Mr. DeLancy is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, with military experience in both conventional and nuclear operations with advanced degree work in journalism, business and political communication. His past teaching assignments include numerous community colleges, Park University, Bluefield College, Liberty University, NC State University and a temporary position at Duke.

Scientific Origins

The VIP plan was simple: Mine public data, analyze that data and let the evidence speak for itself. They fashioned themselves as a “non-partisan” organization because election laws (like the Constitution itself) should transcend political and cultural boundaries. Open and honest elections are in our nation’s best interest.

Starting with a “voter density” study of North Carolina’s 100 counties, they began publishing their research results on-line and sharing it with media, lawmakers and with peers from other states.

Their second project copied the ground-breaking work of the Miami Herald, who obtained the names and addresses of persons disqualified from jury duty because of their non-US citizen status. This VIP effort led to the discovery of 130 people who had voted before they were disqualified from jury duty, 11 of whom became targets of criminal referrals. This research has led to legislative attempts in 2013, 2015 and 2017 to require Clerks of Court to share their data with elections officials.

Their third project, garnering national exposure, led to the discovery of almost 30,000 deceased persons who were still registered to vote, some of whom had voting records beyond their date of death. This research identified numerous “data leakage” points in the deceased-voter removal process. It also triggered consultations with election officials that resulted in process improvements for identification and removal of deceased-voters’ records.

[Exclusive] Civil Rights Icon From Greensboro Lunch Counter says Red Hen is bigoted

Published

on

Thursday, Populist Wire caught up with Civil Rights Icon and asked him if he had a reaction to the Red Hen Restaurant denying service to Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.

“What was true then is true now, people should not get turned away from service because of differences in opinion, in America,” said Clarence E. Henderson, President of the Fredrick Douglas Foundation North Carolina Chapter.

Populist Wire covered the Red Hen story HERE

“Why was she denied service, denied the chance to have a meal there,  because she held different opinions?” said Henderson. “We moved past that.”

According to his online biography, “In 1960, on the second day of the Greensboro sit-in  Henderson sat at the Woolworth lunch counter in Greensboro, North Carolina. Clarence Henderson was in the forefront of the civil rights battle as he bravely stepped up to participate in the sit-in at the Woolworth’s diner.

Today, Mr. Henderson is a champion for freedom and conservative values. His message will inspire you and teach you how to change the narrative in this nation, from “Liberty for a few” to “Liberty for All!”

Henderson is an active participant for Conservative and Republican events and is currently giving speeches titled “Why you should be a Republican”.

Henderson, a supporter of President Donald J. Trump defends Sanders and told Populist Wire that she should not have been treated the way she was.

He says with Trump, “The Dream Lives On”.

WATCH:

Henderson now is the leader of close to 1000 people in North Carolina with the Fredrick Douglas Foundation Chapter.

From their website, they are:
